Well, how was I supposed to know this is one of the Best and Oldest Chinese restaurants in Killeen? I'm a social pariah!!! Anyway, Cookie met me at the door with a welcoming smile and a wonderful older lady was quick with a Menu. Everyone was very nice. I took my food to go, but the walls should be considered a Fort Hood/3rd Crop historical site. Every inch of space is covered with Command and Organizational lunch pictures. No. I'm not exaggerating and I've been told that the owner can actually remember all of the pictures and elaborate on each one. Lore is cool! The food itself was AWESOME! I had general tso chicken, chicken lo mein, with fried rice and crab rangoon. It only cost me $33! As a single guy, that breaks down to three meals at just over $10 each. *We all know Chinese food is tied up with pizza in the left-over hall of fame!* The Gen T was crunchy and spicy, lo mean was tasty with plenty of meat, and the crab rangoon maintained its crunch really well...even by day three! *Don't Judge, my fridge works great!* One of the coolest things I found was the side options. All restaurants offer white rice or fried for a bit extra, but They offer Lo Mein as a side! 🤯 Right? They s

Opened in 1981, Taiwan Dragon is showing its age. The servers were spot on. Pepsi products live there. The pork dumplings were the best! Meaty, huge, just plain delicious. I wanted Egg Foo Young, so that’s what I ordered. I usually order a veggie Egg Foo Young, I decided to be adventurous and got the everything but the kitchen sink dish. The omelet looked nothing like I’m used to. Instead of a pan fried omelet I got a deep fried hockey puck. And it had runny brown gravy, not the pale brown goopy gravy. Guess Killeen’s version of Egg Foo Young is not this California girl’s beloved Chinese food.

this is my absolute f a a a a v o r i t e chinese restaurant that exists in all of killeen, my family and i have been coming here for years (my mom worked here in her teens), and the food never disappoints. We probably have a couple of family photos hung up on the walls around the place (: portions of the food are great too, the lunch portions are just enough.

(Updated July 2025) Over the years, we’ve enjoyed dozens of business lunches and dinners at Taiwan Dragon whenever we’re in town—and they never disappoint. This is one of those rare Chinese restaurants that truly has it all: a warm, welcoming atmosphere, a spotless dining room, fast and friendly service, fair prices, and consistently excellent food. Their longstanding support for the military is both evident and appreciated, making it not just a great place to eat, but one we’re proud to support.
